How Patience, Discipline, and Support Can Turn Dreams Into Reality
Lessons from Alessandro Concas on
Motivation, Entrepreneurship, and Parent Support
Igniting the Future
Some conversations stay with you long after the recording ends.
This one did.
On a recent episode of the Generation Youth Podcast, I sat down with Alessandro Concas, a 16-year-old author, entrepreneur, and speaker. What struck me immediately wasn’t just what he has accomplished, but how he talks about the process.
No shortcuts.
No hype.
No overnight success stories.
Just patience, discipline, and steady support.
That combination is rare. And it’s exactly what so many young people need right now.
Starting Young: Turning Boredom into Creativity
Alessandro’s journey didn’t begin with a business plan or a brand strategy. It started with summer boredom.
At eight years old, instead of zoning out or killing time, he wrote The A to Z’s of Fighting Boredom, a children’s activity and coloring book designed to help kids stay creative and engaged. Arts. Crafts. Simple activities. Things kids actually enjoy.
What made the difference wasn’t just his creativity. It was the environment around him.
His father supported the idea and helped with the technical side of publishing so Alessandro could focus on creating. That distinction matters. He wasn’t handed success. He was given space to work.
That’s an important lesson for parents and educators. Support doesn’t mean taking over. It means removing obstacles so kids can do the work themselves.
Building on Success: Vision Beyond One Win
Most kids would stop after publishing one book. Alessandro didn’t.
Inspired by his cat, Bijou, he launched a science fiction series called Life of the Time Cat. The idea is bold and imaginative, centered on a cat who rules time and space. But what stood out even more was his long-term thinking.
He talked about expanding the series into animated projects and films. Not because someone told him to dream big, but because he naturally sees possibilities beyond a single project.
That kind of vision doesn’t come from pressure. It grows when kids are allowed to explore ideas without being shut down too early.
The Power of Patience and Discipline
This was the core of the conversation.
Alessandro was honest about how difficult it is to stay motivated. He sees peers start projects with excitement and quit once things get hard or slow. He didn’t blame them. He understood it.
But he also named the difference.
Discipline beats motivation.
Showing up consistently, even when you don’t feel inspired, is what actually moves things forward. That message is critical in an instant-results culture where young people often assume progress should be fast or visible right away.
Sometimes nothing is wrong.
Sometimes you’re just in the middle.
Learning to wait, work, and keep going is a skill. And it’s one many teens have never been taught.
Support Systems Matter: A Word for Parents
Toward the end of our conversation, Alessandro offered advice directly to parents.
Take your child’s ideas seriously.
Not every idea will turn into a business or a book. That’s not the point. The point is what kids learn when adults listen, encourage, and help them finish what they start.
His father didn’t dismiss his ideas as unrealistic or childish. He helped him bring them to completion.
That kind of support builds confidence, resilience, and trust. Kids who feel backed are more willing to try hard things and stick with them.
Looking Ahead: Big Dreams, Grounded Effort
Alessandro’s goals are ambitious. Expanding his company. Growing his podcast. Developing animated projects. Even contributing to pet longevity research.
What makes those goals believable isn’t their size. It’s his approach.
Step by step.
Patient.
Disciplined.
Supported.
That formula works. Every time.
Sparking the Next Generation
Alessandro’s story is a reminder that youth potential doesn’t explode overnight. It develops over time.
With patience instead of pressure.
With discipline instead of hype.
With adults who believe enough to walk alongside rather than rush ahead.
That’s how ideas turn into reality.

Sometimes the most powerful thing we can give kids isn’t motivation.
It’s belief, consistency, and time.
